To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake, Maestro David Stewart Wiley and members of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra performed an exciting symphony program of favorites by George M. Cohan, Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rodgers and other legends in a program of American Classics from Broadway to the Silver Screen. In addition to music written for the movie Lake Effects, filmed at SML, Maestro Wiley composed a new orchestra piece in honor of the lake’s anniversary, which was premiered at this special concert. More than 300 people attended the concert.

After the concert, a wine and hors d'oeuvre "Afterglow Reception" was held at nearby Bridgewater Bay clubhouse. Gold ticket holders were invited to meet Maestro Wiley and the musicians.
