Stained Glass Exhibition and Auction
Ended July 28, 2009

Artists of the Lake Glass Group will display and auction pieces of their art at the Westlake Library beginning Wednesday, July 1. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Westlake Library Capital Campaign to purchase new books and other items for the library.

Items on Display

Items to be displayed and auctioned include 8 bright-glass, nugget wreaths; 10-12 diamond-shaped panels, each with a unique design by the artist; 2 large, beveled panels with Iris; 7 hand-crafted, brass kaleidoscopes, and some other smaller pieces, including mirrors and glass jewelry. Each piece of art will be signed by the artist.

The Auction

Image: Kaleidoscope The auction will be organized as a silent auction and will begin on July 1. Each piece will be numbered, and there will be a table with bid sheets, each sheet identifying a numbered piece and artist and providing a place for a written bid. A minimum bid will be set for each piece, and only bids equal to or above these will be considered.

On Tuesday, July 28, there will be a reception, starting at 6:30 p.m. Bids can be made up until 7:30 p.m., at which time the winners will be announced and the art pieces presented. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Franklin County Library, assisted by some of the artists.
