Fine Arts Scholarships
Each year, the Smith Mountain Arts Council awards a number of Fine Arts Scholarships to students who demonstrate proficiency in the visual, performing, or literary arts and who attend either Staunton River HS, Franklin County HS, or are home-schooled or at private schools and live within those school boundaries.
Students dedicated to pursuing full time study at a two or four year college in any art-related endeavor are encouraged to apply.

Smith Mountain Arts Council hereby announces two $2,000 two-year scholarships for Seniors applying from Franklin County High School, Gretna High School, Staunton River High School or Home-Schooled in the foregoing HS geographic areas who are seeking a Performing, Visual or Literary Arts Degree from a two or four year accredited college or university [including community college].
Scholarships will be paid in the amount of $1,000 per year for the first two years of enrollment provided second-year payments are subject to recipients submitting to the SMAC Scholarship Committee first year transcripts showing progress satisfactory to the Committee.
Applicants may not be related to any member of the Smith Mountain Arts Council Board of Directors, incomplete applications will not be considered and scholarship amounts may be used only for tuition.
